At the macro level, firms are inclined to adjust and optimize their cash-holding strategies in response to changes in purchasing power due to inflation. Firms flexibly adjust their cash-holding strategies in response to changes in the external environment. At the micro level, the effect of operating cycle, which indicates the speed and turnover of corporate cash flow, on the corporate cash-holding has been studied. In this paper the effect of inflation and operating cycle on cash holdings has been studied. To pursue this purpose, the data has been extracted from companies listed in Tehran Stock Exchange from 1990-2001. For stimulation of this study’s model, we used regression in panel data. The results of the analysis show a U-shaped relationship between consumer price Index (CPI) and cash holdings. Thus there is a significant negative association between cash holdings and the CPI, but the relationship is reversed when the CPI reaches a certain level. The empirical results indicate that there is not a U-shaped relationship between operating cycle and cash holdings. ایجاد توازن بین وجوه نقد موجود و نیاز‌های نقدی یکی از مهم‌ترین عوامل سلامت اقتصادی واحد‌های تجاری و تداوم فعالیت آنها است. در سطح کلان، شرکت‌ها تمایل دارند سطح نگهداشت وجه نقد خود را برای پاسخگویی به تغییرات قدرت خرید ناشی از تورم، سازگار و در سطح بهینه‌ای حفظ کنند. چرخۀ عملیاتی، سرعت و گردش وجه نقد را در شرکت نشان می‌دهد و در سطح نگهداشت وجه نقد شرکت‌ها مؤثر است. در این پژوهش، تأثیر تورم و چرخۀ عملیاتی بر سطح نگهداشت وجه نقد شرکت‌ها بررسی شده است. جامعۀ آماری، شرکت­های پذیرفته‌شده در بورس اوراق بهادار تهران و دورۀ زمانی پژوهش از سال 1380 تا سال 1391 است. برای آزمون فرضیه‌های پژوهش، از تحلیل رگرسیون در قالب داده‌های تابلویی استفاده شده است. نتایج رابطۀ غیرخطیU شکل را بین سطح نگهداشت وجه نقد و شاخص قیمت مصرف‌کننده نشان می‌دهد؛ یعنی درابتدا، رابطۀ منفی بین شاخص قیمت مصرف‌کننده و سطح نگهداشت وجه نقد وجود دارد؛ اما بعد از اینکه افزایش شاخص قیمت مصرف‌کننده از حد معینی می‌گذرد، رابطۀ شاخص قیمت مصرف‌کننده وسطح نگهداشت وجه نقد مثبت می‌شود. به علاوه نتایج، نشان‌دهندۀ عدم تایید رابطۀ U شکل بین چرخۀ عملیاتی و سطح نگهداشت وجه نقد است. https://amf.ui.ac.ir/article_21168_c809e74d86da4253b1202d0761a72b31.pdf
